Therapeutic Yoga

is about using movement, breath, somatic ( body) awareness and mindfulness to regulate a dysregulated nervous system.

Providing a way of working with the sensations and sometimes debilitating impacts of trauma, stress and anxiety on the body. The interventions can work alongside counselling to support calmness and ability to access talking therapy as well as supporting wellbeing during periods of stress.

I am not a qualified yoga teacher and the work is not about perfecting poses/ asanas. However in my own practice over 30 years, I studied the philosophy of yoga which in turn led me to embark on training and certification in Yoga therapy for trauma.
