Sessions are always guided by you as the client, your needs and finding the right pace and interventions for you.
I work to hear, listen, be curious, understand, truly empathise with and validate whatever is happening for the person I am working with. This is the foundation for allowing you to feel emotionally safe and able to explore and process your experience.
First sessions are about getting to know each other and building a relationship in which you feel safe to talk. Sometimes though it is hard to talk, hard to find the right words, or just too much to say out loud. Being offered tools which assist in the exploration of what is happening or has happened for you can make accessing therapy a gentler but deeper experience.
Somatic interventions which calm the nervous system can assist and support you during the journey or can be the support you need during periods of stress.
